Fourth of July weekend, 1970
The Atlanta International Pop Festival must have been one hell of a trip, judging by the Allman Brothers sets (two of 'em). Them were the days.
Oh, yeah, some other bands there too: BB King Its a Beautiful Day Captain Beefheart Chambers bros. Mountain Ginger baker's Air Force Richie Havens Jimi Hendrix!! 10 Years After Jethro Tull Lee Michaels John Sebastian Johnny Winter Ohmigod. Sounds like it was miserable hot and about as stoned as a concert could ever be, even in 1970. |
