Dunhill Standard Mixture Mild:
This is a bright ribbon cut tobacco with a splattering of dark leaf throughout. It is a mild, but fairly falvorful tobacco with enough latakia for you to know its there but not enough to overpower your taste buds. The latakia is also in limited enough quantity as to not leave a heavy aftertaste. I find Virginia blends to be clean smoking and tasting without leaving your palette feeling heavily coated. Although I have less luck describing the flavors of pipe tobacco as I do a cigar, I would say that the overall flavor is a woody\nutty taste with just a touch of spice on the tongue. The spice or zestiness picks up as you smoke the bowl down but is never harsh. I didn't detect any sweetness from the Virginia leaf as I have with other Virginia blends, but I still enjoyed the overall flavor. The tobacco burns clean and leaves the bowl with a light grey dry ash. Overall I found this to be a very light but enjoyable morning smoke....just what I was looking for.
