Today's "Football" news--soccer, that is.

I had to stay at the in-laws this morning, so I got to watch Fox Sports World. Here's the latest.

Sepp Blatter reneges on a promise he made to the Oceania Confederation guarnateeing the winner a spot in the 2004 World Cup. CONMEBOL, the South American Confederation had floated a plan for a 36 team pool in order to ensure they still got enough spots. When FIFA withdrew it's plan, CONMEBOL withdrew theirs, and 2006 will go on as before with Oceania's winner and the fifth place team in CONMEBOL going to a playoff. The Aussies, esp. are quite angry.

Ronaldinho to Manchester United? Quite possible, the offer would make his paypacket almost equal to Roy Keane's. Paris St. Germain are still considering the transfer offer.

Leeds United, nearing bankruptcy, are trying to transfer Harry Kewell. Arsenal rejected an offer to take Kewell, and Gerard Houillier at Liverpool is interested, but David O'Leary is advising him against it. O'Leary who managed Kewell at Elland Road said Kewell is a bad influence on the club and helped undermine O'Leary there.

Teddy Sheringham has signed at newly-promoted Portsmouth which is now managed by Harry Redknapp.

The first all-female officiating crew worked a game this weekend in the Paulista League between Guarani and Sao Paulo. The referee handed out 8 yellow cards, and upheld what turned out to be two good calls by her assistants on off side plays.

Wiltord with 45 goals in three years at Arsenal has been offered only a 2 year deal by the Gunners.

Rumor has it that Everton are trying to woo Steve MacManaman. He's unhappy and is looking to leave Real Madrid. While he played for Liverpool, he says he supported Everton as a child.

Saadi Qadaffi, 28 years old, signed with Serie A side Perugia for an estimated $650,000 per year. He's the son of Libya's Colonel Qudaffi.

Got it all? Good. Discuss amongst yourselves.
