I walked into a beer distributor and found two four packs of Thomas Hady Ale. For those of you in the know this is THE British Barley wine, 12.5% ABV and bottle conditioned. These suckers can age up to 25 years. Sadly they aren't making it anymore.

These bottles were vintage 1993. That's right 10 years old. My wife and I shared a bottle Satuday night and it was phenomenal.

There was no carbonation. The nose was loaded with caramel, nuts and raisins. This was duplicated in the taste but with some oakiness to boot. The body was very smooth almost like sherry.

this has to be one of the finest beverages I have ever had the pleasure to partake in.
