Cigar Oasis empty????

I just installed a new Cigar Oasis about 3 months ago, and recently noticed my % slipping.....I kept an eye on it every day but got concerned when it started reading 57%

So I pulled it out and noticed it was very light!!!! So I figured it was empty I continued to pull it apart and refill it with distilled water. So far the humidity is slowly creaping up....it is now back up to 64% on its way to 67% where I previously had it.

My question is, from what I heard this thing did not need refilling for about 1 year. Is this right???? Maybe it did not turn off in the whole 3 months

Has this type of thing happened to any of you guys as well???.....I thought I was riding myself of continous refilling but I guess 3 months is better than every 2 weeks.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
