Micallef Granite Bold Nicaragua

This Toro size Maduro has a very smooth dark wrapper and a very firm bunch. The foot has classic Maduro aromas with some spices. The cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a Lagunitas Imperial Stout.



The cigar starts with strong yet sweet flavors; very pleasant. It is a full bodied cigar with an interesting flavor profile that I expect to develop nicely. The retrohale is lightly peppery. The burn is excellent.



The wrapper is very dark and is producing more of an oscuro profile. The flavors are strong yet sweet. The retrohale is lightly peppery and very pleasant. The burn is mostly even.



In the first third the flavor profile is very full bodied yet with the sweetness of an oscuro. The pepper in the retrohale remains excellent. The burn remains very even.



During the second third a pleasant hint of caramel joins the flavor profile. The complexity of flavors is excellent. And the burn remains very even.

Since my introduction to Micallef cigars, this is one of the best I have smoked.



Approaching the final inch the sweetness continues to build, confirming my thoughts that this is much more an oscuro than a maduro. The construction and complexity are excellent. 9.6/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
