You guys can appriciate this.
I've had a Colibri torch lighter for 9-10 years now. I know a lot of people think Colibri is of questionable quality but this one has worked day in and day out for all those years. The fake gold plating has all rubbed off and it now looks like brass/copper. All I've had to do to maintain was clean it out with a can of air and some rubbing alcohol every now and then when I notice it has trouble lighting. And the end of last summer we had a wiffleball tournament and an incredibly nice day out. Naturally I brought cigars and my favorite lighter.
It wasn't until weeks later I realized I had lost the lighter. I looked every where for it and was really pissed that I lost it. I eventually gave up and moved on to one of the many other torch lighters I have. (I've accumilated a lot over the years from B&M specials, buy a box get a lighter sort of thing) The problem was I went through 2-3 of these freebies and they all sucked. Never consistantly light, always have to try 3-4 times to get it lit. And then last week it came. A text message from my buddy on the wiffleball team. "Hey JD. Did you lose a lighter?" It must have been in the cup holder in one of the camp chairs and we tossed them in the trunk of his car when he gave me a ride home. He was cleaning out his car and sure enough, there it was. Some how he actually recalled it belonging to me even though that one game was the only time he'd seen it. Seriously boys. If you have a dependable lighter, don't ever let it go! |
