Is there any way to revive pipe tobacco?
I bought my first and only pipe several years ago. At that time, a couple of fine members of CW sent me a bunch of samples of various types of pipe tobacco. I tried a few, but never really got into the pipe thing. I have stored all the samples in glass jars. The other night, a friend was over and he wanted to try my pipe. When he went through the tobacco he said that it was dried out. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I'm wondering if there is any way to revive the tobacco? For example, if I were to place a damp sponge in the jar, would that help revive the tobacco? Or should I just toss it all. Please, I know you guys are very generous, but I'm not looking for a handout. I haven't smoked my pipe in over two years and I doubt I'll start smoking it regularly any time soon. I just want to know if there's anything I can do to revive the tobacco and save it. Thanks.
