Cohiba Siglo II, and Cohiba Corona Especial
Cohiba Corona Siglo II
The ones packed in the cool cigar tubes From Nov 2007, factory unknown Smoked indoors. Wrapper: dark tan, really made the band stand out it was so dark, thin veins, a bit dense looking, perfect cap. 4/5 Construction: Dense, with great draw. Burned even, dark ash color. 5/5 Flavor: Wow...just wow this was surprisingly strong. Sweet earthiness, with a sweet spicy finish dominated this cigar. Rich dense smoke filled the palate, and the finish was long between puffs, allowing the palate to experience complexity of wonderful flavors. 9/10 Final thoughts: I wish this cigar was 10 feet long. This cigar is really strong, and will only appeal to experienced palates. Score: 18/20, strongly recommend. Corona Especial Box date: NOV 2007, no other info available Wrapper: Light tan, thin veins, silky and smooth looking, perfect cap. 5/5 Construction: Dense and a bit heavy made for a stiff draw. Burned even, light gray ash. Unfortunately the stiff draw kept you from experiencing the full potential of this great cigar. 2/5 Flavor: Sweet spicy, on the medium side of strength. Poor draw kept the smoke thin, and uneventful. 5/10 Final thoughts: Unfortunately too many samples from this box had poor draw. I hope it was just a fluke and not the trend for this vitola. When it is on, it is my favorite Cuban cigar. Score: 12/20
