Help, the cork broke!
Piss me off! I was dusting my whiskey cabinet when I noticed the cap on a bottle of cognac on the top shelf looked like it was askew. Upon further inspection, someone had tried to twist off the top, probably thinking it was just a cap, and not a cork. Well, the cork broke off just inside the bottle. I was able to pull most of it out with just a few bits of cork falling into the bottle. But, now I don't have a cork to replace it. How long will plastic wrap tied on with a rubber band last in keeping the cognac in good condition? This is a bottle of French V.S. cognac called Red Corner by A. Hardy. I've never heard of it. Tastes pretty smooth! Obviously, I had to drink some after I got the cork pieced out!
Are caps available to seal the bottle, or should I just use the plastic wrap and rubber band method and not worry about it? |
