Macanudo?

Alright, so I've heard nothing but bad things about Macanudo cigars. Because of that, I have not smoked one even though I've heard they're the quintessential "newb cigar." Today I was at the smoke shop buying some Arturo Fuentes and happened to come across a nice looking Macanudo in a glass tube. Figured I should at least try it even with its mild reputation. Veterans and newbs alike, what are your experiences with Macanudos? Smoke 'em, like 'em, consider them newb cigars, or something else?
