While their past playoff history is not very good, THIS Braves team is very different.
They used to rely on dominant pitching and had an anemic offense, which unfortunately, does not work against other playoff caliber teams (they had to have good pitching as well) who had better offense. Now, the Braves pitching is less dominant, but the top of the offense (Furcal and Giles) is fantastic. Couple that with perhaps one of the best 3-4-5 hitting combos, throw in Fick at the 6 spot and Lopez (7) and Castilla (8) are bonuses at this point. If everyone can stay reasonably healthy and the bullpen holds up, I like their chances this year more than any year since '95.
