I have that experience often with cigars that have been buried in the humi for a long time. maybe I'm not airing the ammonia out often enough, or whatever. or maybe I'm holding the torch too close as I toast it off... but I never give up until i'm at least a half inch burnt, and even then I'll purge it and go on a few minutes more. The only exception was this 'rosado' I tried about 6 years ago... Red, aged, wine soaked wrapper or some sort... oh my god that thing SUCKED.
