It's a fair question. Primarily the point is to give Christian kids something they can listen to that isn't church-hymn music, and most kids who are really listening to it will know the words by the liner notes or song-lyric websites.
In the end, Christian music is mianly for Christian kids, or even adults. Give them an alternative to "let's have sex and get drunk and party til we puke" music (you know, country music ). They have Christian versions of adult contemporary artists, too, and while some of it's pretty decent, some of it makes you think about sticking forks in your ears. Same can be said for just about any genre, Christian or "mainstream." At some point, it's all derivative and market driven.
