Definitely not work...a little smoky...but not work unless you start by roasting on an outdoor grill burner attachment in an actual pan like I did. Shaking it back and forth for 15 minutes WAS work but stil worth the learning process. Graduate to the Hot Air Popper and it's a snap.

Roasted two small batches yesterday for an espresso blend.

Brazil Coromandel Fazenda Sao Joao

About 1 minute into the second crack (I like the espresso roast a tad darker but agree that a little lighter is best for straight up coffee. Let it rest overnight. Had some beautiful espresso this morning. The beauty of this hobby is that you can experiment with different roasts, coffees and blends forever and always have something unique. At worst it will be as good as about the best coffee you've ever tasted...at best it will be fantastic!
