Funnily enough, the brewing forum I frequent is undergoing this same discussion.
I prefer balanced malty beers with my cigars-- Stouts, porters, bocks, scottish and irish styles all seem to compliment tobaccos well. I love hops but have yet to find a hoppy style that goes with a cigar. As far as other alcohols I've enjoyed with a smoke: Port, or a full bodied red wine Single malts (I prefer a warm peat flavor to go with a cigar) I'm not usually fond of a whiskey or bourbon with a smoke, but that's more a function of having not found a bottling that I enjoy. |
