Pine Box Humidor

A friend and I had made ourselves humidors from plans in '98. Those turned out really well. Within a couple years I had discovered eBay and the old humidors on there. I also began to wonder what other kinds of boxes could be made into humidors.
I bought this pine box in 2001-2002. The pics are dated '02. I like the duck picture on the front. Still do. I lined it with Spanish cedar, made a lid seal, and constructed some trays. My tools and my understanding of them was pretty limited at the time. The liner is fine. But I didn't have a drill press. I just stacked up the tray pieces by size and drilled holes with a power drill thinking everything would line up. Well, stuff shifted around whilst drilling. So the holes on various pieces look pretty cockeyed. That said, they work just fine.
I discovered something important about soft woods. The Spanish cedar of the liner sucked the resin out of the pine. It was pretty stinky! I ended up pulling the liner and cleaning everything with alcohol. Then I bought and cut some tin, lined the box with it, and put the Spanish cedar back in. That box has been functioning as a humidor ever since. I've had various humidifiers in there and have learned a bit about how they function as well.

Here it is:

I did love Indian Tabac back in 2002. The unbanded cigars are Indian Tabac Super Fuerte seconds. I remember those as pretty decent. I smoked a lot of them.
