So what is happening in your sports among your teams?

Stuck living with my mom in a caregiver role, I am watching a lot of Stanley Cup playoff hockey, I am noting quite a few exciting, overtime games this year. Best team in the regular season got swept in the first round.

Islanders got swept in the second.

I did not watch the Kentucky Derby but saw headlines about a disqualification of the winner, and comparisons to the Saints no-call against the Rams.

Brother Martin Crusader lacrosse (where my son played for three years) FINALLY, after six years of having a lax program, beat the vaunted Jesuit Blue Jays 6-2 yesterday to make the state final four in Lafayette, next weekend.

Now, the Cleveland Browns are becoming LSU North!

Did not see the result to be honest. Tiger lax got beat in the dirst round of the MCLA national tournament by Cal-BerkLeft.

Then there is the entire Christian Dawkins court case that happened and has resulted, so far, in an NCAA investigation of Arizona basketball. Now Zion Williamson and his family are key players in all this but Duke, and Kansas are being ignored.

LSU and weakling AD (thankfully FORMER AD) Joe Alleva go running scared because ONE Yahoo! article stated they had LSU MBB coach Will Wade on a wiretap recording. No one else head this but Dawkins' defense team, and yet Joe "Duke Lacrosse" Alleva suspended the coach for damn near a month, the SEC Tournament, and the NCAA tournament. Wade was not even mentioned charged, accused, whatever in the Dawkins' trial, he was only a subpoena'ed witness to start with.

ANOTHER overtime game, last night in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and St. Louis beat Dallas despite a career game from Stars' 'keeper Ben Bishop who saved 52 out of 54 shots-faced. Yeesh.

College Baseball has been pretty good.

Yes, yes it has. The State vs. LSU series has been compelling to be certain.
LSU does enough at the SEC tournament to ensure hosting a regional. NCAA likes Baton Rouge as it sells out early and often.

UVa wins the Division I lacrosse championship in Philadelphia.

Oh boy, where to start?

As I've gotten older, I've come to realize how unimportant sports is on my everyday life (not to mention what a con it's become).

As a result I haven't set foot in the Garden to see the Knicks or the Rangers in something like 12-13 years and baseball is nothing more than something to be on the radio while sitting outside enjoying a smoke and a beer.

I still watch the Giants, because every week in a 16 game season is important. TBH though, the days of the NFL being "Must See TV" are long gone and I won't go out of my way or schedule my day around a Giants game. My dad would spin in his grave if he saw this.

The only one of my teams I really flip over nowadays is New York City FC in MLS. There are any number reasons I can give, but the main one being my son is crazy about the sport. We go to about 8 or 9 matches a year up at Yankee Stadium and it really is a wonderful bonding experience.
