How Many Beads are Needed for my Humidor? Is my Calculation
I made a post regarding this issue in another forum, but I also wanted to post in here for the benefit of getting a quicker response and to allow forum members to be able to tell me if I did the calculations correctly for determining how many beads that I will need for my humidor.
Please tell me if I am doing the Humidification Bead calculation correctly? I need to find out if 12 ounces of Beads is enough for my humidor? I just ordered 3 of the 4oz. Humidification Tubes with the 70% Beads in them from Viper. I am hoping that the three 4oz. tubes with the beads will have enough beads in them to increase the humidity level to 70% in my humidor. The formula and the calculations that I did below were found in another thread in the forums. I am using it to try to determine how many beads that I am going to need for my humidor. Here are my calculations below: My humidor is about: 18" high x 12" inches wide x 18" inches deep = 3888" Cubic inches Then I calculated: 3888/1728= 2.25' cubic feet Then I calculated: 2.25' cubic feet/5 = .45 lbs of Beads needed My final calculation is that I will need .45 lbs of Beads or close to 1/2 lb of beads for my humidor. Is this correct? Will this be enough beads? Do you think that the three 4 oz tubes with the beads that I ordered will be plenty of beads to bring the humidity level inside my large humidor up to 70% with the given dimensions of my humidor? Please give me your input on this based upon the information which I have given above in this post. I want to make sure that I ordered enough tubes with beads in them. Thanks |
