Right. Wine coolers are basically refrigerators that run towards warmer temps. Wine stores and ages best at around 55 degrees, which is way warmer than you'd want a refrigerator to run. They don't come with any humidification devices, though, so you need to add something in that department.

Most folks wind up taking out the wine rack shelves in the coolers, and many find that adding a small fan to circulate the air helps maintain even humidity, especially as they fill them up with boxes.
