Check out this URL for one of the nicest credo units for cabinets or coolerdors I've ever seen. I might fill it with florist crystals (like you find in drymistats or humistats)instead of the green foam, but otherwise it's beautiful and cheap and easy.

Very nice TFM
That will come in handy once I get my humidor built. 'cept I will be puttin' the Climax Beads in there instead of the Foam stuff. (this post is not meant to offend, nor cause distress to anyone, if however there is a problem or ill feeling please delete post immediately) Could it be that I am a cigar snob

Basically that is what I use. Only mine aren't as sophisticated. I have the oasis in a plastic container and I do use distilled water. My cost is not quite as high as his, but then again his cost isn't too high.
I am just a bit more frugal. okay I am cheap!! "The Italian Stallion" fvfanmc £Ž Edited by - fvfanmc on 03/26/2002 5:03:23 PM |

I have made a few of those! but my best looking ones are using a black project box from Radio Shack. drilling holes in it and filling it with foam. a little velcro on the back and it looks like it came from a cigar store!

I bought a square of that craft mesh several months ago for just that purpose, but just never got around to using it.
Now I'm reminded, and my beads should be coming soon - Thanks!

For smaller applications, you can use a soap dish. Either one with a hinged top or the 2-piece kind. Drill alot of holes in the top. Place your foam, cut to fit, in the soapdish, add your PG/DW mix and presto, it's ready. I use one in my Samador and 3 in my Fridgedor, soon to be replaced with beads!
SSJ...I'm good at what I do. What is it that I do again?!!!

I've got the same thing in my cooler (only shallower and longer). heck with all the work on the lid. I just threw it away.
Now go read my thread about humidity being too high! I'm getting the climmax beads. Peace, NDinNC "I don't want Fop dammit. I want Dapper Dan. I'm a Dapper Dan man!"

I started using soapdishes also in some coolers - they're cheap when you can find them at a dollar store or something like that.
I like that mesh idea though.
