Humidifier question for large cabinet humidor.......
I have a Large (6.5' x 3' x 1') cabinet style humidor and am looking for the best option to maintain humidity. I've heard everything from a Hamilton beach humidifer to beads to pucks, etc. Just thought I would ask the "experts". Thanks in advance!

I can't speak to active humidifiers (never used one), but since I switched to beads I haven't had the slightest humidity problem. I use a 32 bottle wine cooler as a humidor which is probably half the size of your cabinet. I'm sure you could use beads for something this size, but I'm not sure of the amount that would be required.

I suggest you contatct Bob staebell of Aristocrat humidors. There is sticky above where you can reach him. He specializes in large cabinets. Enjoy that baby!

I have a cabinet the same size. I use a Cigar Oasis 2 , with computer fans placed around to circulate the air. So far this summer, I really didnt even need to run it much at all. Stayed at 67/67.
Come winter and colder temps, I also use A CO + on top shelf so the other doesnt keep constantly running and humidity is evened out |

As far as cabinets the size you have I recommend an active system such as the Avallo Accumonitor. It is a good idea to supplement the active system with beads, the beads will help stabilize the cabinet.
With that said I have customers that use beads in a cabinet larger than yours and have great results. |
