Help me find the best cigar lighter for $100 or less.
Well, I am going to be buying myself a nice lighter, I can spend up to $100 US.
I like the idea of the Corona "Old Boy" as the design appeals to me, I enjoy the old style "lift arm" lighters. However, I do not really like the angled flame, I prefer a straight up flame. I also like the Dupont X-Tend, however the temperature worries me a little and I have also read quite a bit that would suggest they are problematic. My main problem is I only smoke outside as my wife doesn't share my appreciation for cigar smoke. I have a Zippo as well as a generic windproof type lighter, but find they can give me problems in slight winds as the flame seems to dull down too low. Any suggestions are appreciated! |

I have to reply to this one.
One day when I grow up (I am only 44 now) I hope to post a thread JUST like this one. I too have always wanted to pull a nice cutter out of my pocket. You know, one that costs more than a machine rolled cigar. The type of cutter that stores keep in a locked display alongside the $445 ashtray. After putting the cutter away I would like to take out the type of lighter you are inquiring about with this post. AND>>> I promised myself that on the day that I held onto the same lighter and cutter for a year, I would IMMEDIATELY look into such a purchase..........<SIGH> as you might have guessed, though I have been smoking cigars all of my adult life, the combined value of my cutter and lighter is about 3 bucks... .....well maybe next year! ![]() |

I've been really happy with both of my Solo lighters that I got from CK. I bought the single flame version after the double torch got to running through too much gas. Great lighters, great warranty and less than twenty bucks to boot.

Unless you want a "name" brand or expensive exotic metals I have yet to find a lighter that beats the performance of the Solo lighters. Lifetime warrenty, less then $20, and they work and work well. I love my double flammer.

Cigarfiz, look at the Corona Slim Boy...a flame that goes straight up and about $25 less than an Old Boy...

Another vote for PB-207
I've got many lighters, some in the range you are talking about, and I use my Blazer PB-207 more or less exclusively.
IMHO Colibri's suck, I'd never buy another one, they break constantly and the service is not very good either. |
