Re-Read the directions. Not familiar with this lighter, but did you adjust/open the valve more? Mess with it.

Did you bleed before filling? I do not regularly do this, but it is recommended to get the air out of the lighter prior to filling.

Did you shake your can (of fluid that is) and fill with the lighter and can upside down?

It's excess air in all likelihood. Torches are too finicky for me....I just use the good ole Zippo and bring a torch just for touch ups.

Use an ink pen or a very small screw driver. Turn the lighter up so the refill valve is pointing down. Push the refill nipple (he he he he he, I said nipple ) up until the butane comes out. Keep pushing until EVERYTHING is out. All butane and air in the tank must be purged.

Shake the butane can. Turn the lighter upside down and refill the lighter. I have found my refills work better if I pump the can up and down.

Might have to get a can of compressed air and blow out the nozzle where the flame should be. One or two bursts of compressed air should clean out any debris from the nozzle.

Let the lighter warm up a little bit before you try to light it.

Purging correctly takes a while. After you think it has been purged, wait a minute, shake the lighter, then purge it again. If you hold it near your ear while purging, you will probably hear the sound of more butane/air coming out. You have to do this several before the tank is REALLY empty.

I like to refer to this as giving the lighter a CABJ...compressed air blow job.

Ash and minute bits of tobacco can fall into the nozzle while lighting the cigar. The CABJ will take care of this.
