It just seems to me, if the definition of a catch was narrowed, it would make it simpler for everyone.
But the Rules committee has never consulted with me, for some unknown reason.
As it stands now, "catches" are open to interpretation.
It's like trying to define what is art or pornography.

They do have to maintain full control and can't bobble while their feet are touching the ground. And (I'm not 100% certain on this part) if they fall out of bounds (as opposed to step out) they're subject to the same rule about maintaining control after they hit the ground.
I'd hate to see the toes down simultaneously barely in catch made illegal, that's something great receivers have mastered.
