Got beef...

w/ Xikar...

Yesterday, my concierge rings me up and tells me I’ve got a package COD. I’m like yay. UPS guys brings me a box, I pay him 23.98 for handling/duty/tax. I was sure it was my Xikar Xi2 cutter. I tear the box open find it’s a Xikar Xi?! I’m like WTF. Ok, got to get to work so I’ll deal with it later. I come home from work and go to pick up mail from the concierge, and bam another package. I’m thinking it’s the cigar DVD I ordered. I take the box, run to my apartment, tear it open and lo and behold another Xikar but an Xi2 this time, just like I ordered from another retailer. Turns out the first one was from a different vendor. After doing some thinking I recall I was on the Xikar website filling out the order form until I realized I was ordering for $39 the Xi cutter not the Xi2 . I didn’t proceed with the order, yet it went thru somehow. No order confirmation email, nothing. Glitch in their system, I don’t know. I emailed them last night to rectify this. I don’t want to pay USD$39 for an Xi + USD$15 for shipping + duty/taxes of CDN$23.98 for a total of USD$72!! Waiting to hear back from em.

Now I got two cutters when a week ago I was desperate to have 1. Go figure.

Take the time to test the 2 . . . You will probably find out the Xi is a better cutter. For some reason the platic Xi2 tends to start to stick after some time. I've seen it happen and talk to a lot of people it has happened to. I have an Xi and although it isn't my favorite cutter, it works perfectly.

Yep, I have noticed this in the store. Stick with the "all metal" cutter

Definitely stick with the Xi. It's a much better cutter and well worth the money

Agree with Lucasbuck, I have had mine for about 4 years. Just sent it back to get sharpened under warranty. They also have great customer service.

I have had better luck with my Xi2. I don't like the original.
