Not often

Do you find a published article mirror and explain an observation that you've had for years.

https://pjmedia.com/culture/rick-mor...medium=twitter

90% of the "music" on pop radio isn't songs. It's hooks repeated ad nauseum. It has no depth or resonance. Thusly, people are reverting back to when music did. Even if the music is older than they are.

Regardless of the age or generation they belong to and how trivial the example, people seek meaning in their lives.

I can't speak to other genres but Country music hasn't been country music for decades. And, sans the old stuff is rock dead? I'm not a hater but that article is on point.

You make a good point. I love, collect, and listen to the Country music up through the Outlaw period. Not much use for what came after. There's a really good Netflix documentary called Heartborn Highways. Nice piece of outlaw music of the 60s (I am a fan of the Outlaws band).

There is alot of truth in that article. Joe Walsh is an outspoken critic of today's music and artists. He asks "how can a single song have 10 Executive Producers?". There are a FEW true artists out there, those that write and perform their own music, but alot of that is trash too (Taylor Swift anyone?).

The "classic rock" era will be known as the new Classical music in 100+ years, will people still be listening to the current drek in 100yrs? I doubt it.
