Columbian Home Roast

My go to beans that I buy from a local coffery shop in town
is usually Kenyan/Nic/Guat. Since my wife prefers her beans
burned I thought about Columbian. It was a good $1 a lb less, and
when it is burned I am not so sure you can tell the difference.

When I got home and opened the Columbian green beans I was
struck by the aroma. These beans had the sweetest smell. So I
went ahead and made a batch for myself. I let them sit for 2 days,
and I tried my first cup on the 3rd day. I don't want to say that I
was disappointed, but the smell of the beans vs after they were
roasted just didn't have the taste I expected.

I guess you can not always equate the smell of the bean with
the taste. Regardless, I really purchased the beans for a very very
dark roast. Some folks like that Starbucks burnt taste.
