For those who their tobacco....

Can someone please explain why almost every house cigar in Thompsons catalog describes the filler as dominican olor and piloto cubana? I have ordered boxes in the past(never again) and out of the 5 brands I've bought, they all taste the same. Are these good tobaccos? Can taste vary? I ask because almost every brand is described like this.

It's the blend that sucks!

If I'm not mistaken, piloto cubana loosely translates to cuban seed.

I thought that the filler was mostly to give the strength (nicotin) and the burning properties of the cigar. And that what influences the flavour most was what's used as wrapper.
