Dale Jr. and DEI
A while ago there was a thread about Jr. leaving DEI. I can't find it, so I'll create this one.
On Jayski's site, there is a link the tells the following: Earnhardt's will left 100 percent of DEI to Teresa. SO, Sr. had no intentions of Jr. taking over DEI. |

As a guy who drove at the edge of crashing at 180 mph several days a week, I'm sure Dale Sr. had a well-defined will. I'm also sure that, in constructing his will, he wanted to ensure that his wife as well as his son both felt they were being treated fairly. So on paper, I'm sure he would have left his DEI stuff in Teresa's hands, with the hopes that some day, when Junior was older, he would take over the "family business." Plenty of time for both of those contingencies to be observed. I'm sure a lot will depend on Teresa, but right now I doubt Junior has any interest in running DEI. He's pulling down 25 mil. a year doing what he's doing, and he's arguably the most popular racer in NASCAR. When he decides it's time to hang it up and move off the track (a looooooong time from now), who knows what will be going on at that point.
Basically I don't think it's anything to be too worried about at this stage. I doubt Dale Sr. expected to die, so whatever he had in his will wouldn't have exactly been Plan A.
