Realistically, I have more than I could smoke at 3-4a day. While there are outstanding new cigars to be discovered, without the daily trade, there really isn't enough demand to support them.
For every millions of Macanudos that are sold, there's a much smaller amount of Umbagogs sold. Without the Macanudos, tastes wouldn't evolve towards Dunbarton's offerings. The cigar hobby as a whole cannot support the more full-flavored options without the larger, mass-market brands. General Cigar has been very good to us over the years. Without their spreading of samples of their mildest blends, many of us might not have been ready to try stronger and stronger offerings, General products or not. It's all about the consumer and cultivating new tastes.
