Metallica...
I'm not a huge fan of the band Metallica... Mainly because they are a bunch of greedy old farts... But one of the songs I like is "I Disappear" you know the hey hey hey here I go now song... It was the first song I started listening too which led me to getting into rock and eventually classic rock music...

This is, by far, THE most overrated band of all time, IMO

Metallica was good very early in their career, but now they are just plain horrible. |

I remember how alive and engergetic "Ride the Lightning" was when it first came out. I remember making a tape of some Stravinsky and Debussy for a friend of mind, and him making a tape of RtL as a trade. I don't know who was blown away more. Later, I was hanging out with the same gang of metal-heads in a friends' basement, and brought my Mahavishnu Orchestra records with me. We spent a rainy Saturday afternoon blasting "Ride the Lightning" and "Inner Mounting Flame" at top volume.
"Master of Puppets" was still pretty good, but Metallica had clearly lost some of their edge to over-production. By the time "Metallica" came out, they had lost me entirely. |

I actually liked Load and Reload. However, St. Anger, I just can't get in to.
