Salt Test
I had some trouble locating the procedure, but eventually found it. I thought, for the fun of it, I would post the steps I took and the results I got.
I took a large Ziplock freezer bag and two caps from one gallon containers. I put about 2 teaspoons salt in each cap and enough water to give the salt a "wet sand consistency". I then placed my hygrometers in the bag for 24 hours. Hygrometers should read at 75% relative humidity. The results I received 1 Oregon Scientific Remote Unit = Perfect 1 Radio Shack Remote Units = Perfect Radio Shack base unit = 2% low 1 Brass large Analog = 1% high 1 medium size analog = not working (didn't change at all) 1 small brass analog = 10% low Now to test the Oregon Scientific base unit, and I will be done |
