Ok guys,

I finally pulled the trigger on a bigger humi and need your help.

I'm looking for some input for humidification devices that you would recommend for this sized humi.
I'd like something that is programmable, low maintenance and affordable as the budget is limited.
No shipping, I'll be in the area and can pick it up thankfully.

Thanks in advance for your wisdom and opinions.

Calculate the cubic foot capacity and go to Stabel's site and buy the appropriate humidifier with the "set it and forget it" humidistat.

Exactly how big is 'bigger'? If it's another desk-top style humi you should be good to go with whatever came with it (although I like to take the floral foam out of the humidification devices and replace it with beads). For a trunk or a cabinet style you should definitely get some sort of active humidification.

I use beads for my cooler and it is so air-tight that I have no problems at all. It's a thing of beauty I tell you. The coolerdor has a Cigar Oasis though that works to keep humidity just right.

Wow - that is AWESOME! Definitely a cigar oasis on the bottom shelf, maybe a baggie of beads on the top.

A "set-and-forget" sounds like a good option. The one thing I would be worried about is making sure all the humid air is properly circulated throughtout...so you don't end up with the bottom being too wet and the top section being bone-dry.

Dispersing little bowls or pouches of humidification beads throughout, like a some on each shelf, is another option I think would work and maintain an even relative humidity throughout.

That's a nice looking humidor, and if you're under six feet tall you could probably be buried in it too.

Well, assuming you don't die of an overdose of Viagara, or you might break the window when they slam the lid.

My Aristocrat has the Set & Forget and it has never failed me. Had it for over 5 years. Highly recommend it.
