Found a Box of La Luna MF's at the bottom of a coolidor
And smoking one now. Original release. These have really mellowed out, not much to them but a maduro flavor profile and maybe even a little bit of an ammonia taste. It is slight but still odd for a cigar of this age.
The aroma is amazing. It is no longer the world beater it once was but it goes nicely with the St Arnolds Spring Bock on this nice spring day.

Just smoking a LaLuna Maduro Fuerte is enough for me. Lucky you!
Well, at least I have a LLMF cigar band to fondle!

It's funny you should mention this. Spiridon turned me on to the LLMF at one of the first Floriday's herfs. Took the band and the cello off and wouldn't tell me what I was smoking until I finished the cigar. Blindly, I believed I was smoking a lower-level Cuban cigar. When he told me what it actually was, I was blown away. That was close to 20 years ago. Trying to imagine what they'd taste like now with that much age on them.

I miss those so badly, and for more than one reason. Of course, they were damn fine cigars. I had one a couple years ago, and have a few left. But they have lost a little something, and really aren't as special as they once were, best to smoke them now.
But these were the absolute RAGE, here on CW when I joined, and for the next three years, after that during which time the Natural Fuertes came out, too. Then it all went tango-uniform. But those were enjoyable, heady days to be a member of this forum. The good times then, with these cigars, are reminders and why I've stayed all these years. Off to get out the coolers tonight.

I think I might still have a couple of La Luna's in the frigador. I still remember sitting in his shop one night drinking some awesome rare bourbon he poured out for me. I don't know anything about his troubles, but I remember that bourbon quite well... Yumm!
