Yes, was a staple in my house growing up. We ate it once or twice per week. Nonna made the best veal!

I love to make Osso Bucco or pound out cutlets, egg wash, bread and lightly fry them, add ground veal to the gravy and/or to the meatballs.

That said, it is getting difficult to find nice veal shanks for osso bucco.

The anti-meat propaganda train is still running at full speed I see.

The whole "dead baby cow" thing is just one more way the bleeding hearts are attempting to guilt people out of eating meat. They have even gone so far as to invent science that humans should be herbivores only, completely ingoring the glaring evidence that are incisor teeth.

Nothing personal mannish. I just hate seeing people overcome with such crap.

As for Osso Buco, a lot of what you get in restaurants any more is pork shank.

You can't make true, delicious meatballs without veal.

Which is why I never order it out.

Actually, I rarely ever go out for Italian food as 99% of the time its a let down. Yes, I was a spoiled kid in the homemade Italian (well Tuscan) food department.
