I'll second the Old Overholt. It was the first time I ever tasted liquor and I was hooked.

The Evan Williams black is about as low as I can go. The green label would be better used as NASCAR fuel. Overholt is a good mixing rye, but I don't really think it stands on its own as sipping whiskey.

I buy the Evan Williams frequently, and the Beefeater Gin about every third or fourth bottle of gin.

I'll try the Overholt next time.

I haven't seen any of the others.

It's the semi-annual dollar sale at the store here until Saturday.
Overholt is $10. Got 2 bottles of Buffalo Trace for $20 each.

Don't be jealous.

Old Overholt is highly regarded by the bartenders I trust most, and it does to me stand on its own

Old Fitzgerald is good stuff especially at the price, I might prefer old granddad 110 more though

Mellow Corn is from Heaven Hill, it gets mixed reviews, I may crack the bottle I have

Beefeater was once upon a time the only gin I drank

Like what you drink, drink what you like

I've given up on happiness and fulfillment as a constant. I'm still learning how to keep my mouth shut unless I can improve on the silence and shoot for relative satisfaction. Happy and fulfilled is for my kids' generation if they can find it.

A good day for me is lived in and relatively pain free. Sounds like a pretty low bar until we have to adjust to it. Striving to be less grouchy and more circumspect. Some challenges are harder than others.

I don't know Jason, I have a friend with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus and she is happy despite constant pain. She leads what I call a small life. There may be a lesson to learn. from her.

My mom is constantly unhappy, she can tell you in detail everything she doesn't have that she thought she should have. I feel sorry for her, it seems like a joyless life.

Yes we need to shut our mouths from time to time, we also need to learn that we aren't gods and we don't have the answers for others until we have answers for ourselves.

Took a long time and a lot of work for me to connect the dots. And there are more dots to connect. I can tell you this, when I don't feel sorry for myself I feel a lot better overall.

Life is also about getting up dusting off and trying to move forward.

Because who knows what the tide will bring?

Small life is a good way of putting it. I'm working towards being able to walk the neighborhood hills with my wife with a further goal to be able to do some yardwork again. Don't particularly like yard work over house work, but I like not being able to do it even less.
