Glengarioch... A new A Rich Pour column
Glengarioch... Never heard of it? Well, this enterprise is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. And it makes some excellent malt whiskies to boot! Read all about it HERE in the latest installment of A Rich Pour.
Hope you enjoy the read. And I hope you're tempted to try some of Glengarioch's whisky, too!

Great write-up and -- question: Why isn't this malt considered a breakfast drink? It looks so gorgeous.

Any purveyor that stocks Bowmore and/or Auchentoshan should be able to get ahold of Glengarioch, as all three are in the Morrison-Bowmore stable.

I will seek it out. But strangely, in the past when I have asked about some of the great scotches that you review I have been told that they are not available in the U S. Must be a "we lost the Colonies" thing. 😋

Hope you're successful. The 12 Year Old probably represents the best bang-for-your-buck in the lineup, though I have been told that the most recent vintage release (the 1999), despite its greater cost, is a superb example of a sherry cask matured Highland malt. It's bottled at cask strength.

masters of malt lists it, and if you want it I try to get it at Binny's in Chicago. They list it as Glen Garioch with a space in between the n and the g

Over the years, the distillery's name has been cited as 'Glengarioch' while the whisky's name has been spelled 'Glen Garioch'. That said, the sign at the front of the distillery reads 'Glen Garioch'.
Perhaps the whisky is deemed more valuable than the distillery?
