Why do so many people love jack daniels. A friend of mine recent was complaining about the price of it. I told him to buy a cheaper whiskey like evan williams 7 year or even ten high since he only mixes it with coke. In my opinion either is perfectly acceptable when mixing. So he tried it and says...this is horrible...i need to go get more jack.

I just dont get it. For the same price i can get evan williams single barrel, buffalo trace, wild turkey and even knob creek. Which are all great sipping whiskeys, i also enjoy sipping on the ew 7year with a few ice cubes thrown in.

So why are people so obsessed? Is it all just marketing?
