New Xikar Lighter!
I was at my local shop yesterday when a shipment of new Xikar lighters arrived. Of course, being a huge fan of Xikar's quality and customer service I was immediately drawn to them. I expected a $50-$75 lighter, in the same price range as the Xi.
What I found was a dual torch Lighter, with a matte finished metal case for $18.95!! Pictures posted here: http://galleries.cigarweekly.com/AZRobbo/HumidorPics If the quality and warrantee is even close to their cutters they may set a new bar for lighters. The warrantee is unclear, as there is no info on it in the box or on their website. I've emailed them, and will post here once I get the details. No matter what the warrantee is, it’s one of the highest quality <$20 lighters I’ve seen.

From the pic it looks like one sweet lighter! I might have to trade in my trusty bic for one of those

Nice looking lighter, but other lighters of similar design are also under the $20 figure so I think it's priced in the right range

That looks just like the Solo Trek lighter. It already has a lifetime warranty.
http://www.getlit.com/nhtml/trek.shtml I think that Xikar is licensing these from Solo. |

Yup, they certainly look to be the same. (and here I thought I discovered something new & cool.) Thanks for the heads up.
I guess the name doesnt mean a whole lot (It'll be intersting to see what Xikar has to say about the warrantee.)

I have done the complete ignition-source circuit. Started with matches, then a bic, then a zippo, then 2 or 3 different torch lighters, all of which crapped out on me. Now I'm back to matches. They make fire and are trouble free. Plus, you can't beat the price.

Matches are very good but pretty much useless in wind or while driving 80 MPH down the highway trying to re-ingnite that damn cigar that just went out on you... Especially in a convertible.

at home I like to use matches, gives it a more "old time" feeling, when I'm outside, time to bring out the torch
