Diamon Crown Chipendalle review

After recieving my last credit card bill,i knew that something had to be done about my obsession with Cohiba's and Trinidad's,after calculating my cigar purchasses i quicly found that my indulganse in said cuban brands cost me more than all other brands plus a few hundred dollars,dont get me wrong i love my bolis and SLR's,as well as manny others,but it is just too dificult to reach for a bolivar when a cohiba is right there next to it.what does this have to do with DC humidors?well I had decided to buy a humidor exclusivly for these brands,that way i wont look at a Fundador and remember how damn good they taste,plus i would only buy some if my stash is getting low and i can acomodate another box.headed to BH.com,noticed there prices were significantely higher than other places,contacted them and they took the price down to match other sources.two weeks later i am prepping my new humi.now before i get into the actual review,i must warn you i am extremely anal,and i am the kinda guy who goes behind the rides corners at amusement parks to see if it true to the theme,if there is a pile of cleaning material or a piece of machienary it just ruins the expierience for me,thats why i love Disny land,the point is alot of this might not be important to you.

first things first,the exteriour,nice grain pattern,not perfect mind you but very good.heres a pic:add one star.

lets take a look at the other,gasp...the horror,glue?white out?what the hell is this??:

I try delicately rubbing it out to no avail,it seems the it a manufacturing defet,it was obviousely caused by a rushed assembly,how dissapointing.one star down.

Now the top shelf trays,i like the double tray idea,but with the absent of handels of some sort getting to the bottom is difficult,but i can let this go,the thing that REALLy got to me,is the horrible cedar grain pattern,it had this brownish-whitish scratchy look.and it isnt even consistant,one side is brown,the other is white,in the SAME tray.how disapointing.another two stars down.here are the pics:

the bottom is roomy and well fitted,no complaints here,i fitted over 240 cigars in this monster of a humidor.pics:

one thing i have against the bottom is this,the unit omes with fore dividers for the bottom,you can either sort youre cigars verticaly or horasiontally,allowing for a max of four compartmints,i would like to see this desighn changed so that the larger deviders have slots in the middle,alowing for a combination of options,also allowing for NINE smaller compartments.however the current desighn is satisfactory and i wont deduct any more stars.

A few other things I noticed,the fit of the cedar is disapointingthere is a certine amountthatVARIES from corner to corner,here is a pic:

Another thing that i noticed is there is a dent besides the lock,also the lock it self is not what i would call carefully fitted,one star gone between the lock,dent and the fit.I think i am being fare here??here is a pic of the lock:

well I am putting the trayes back after inspection and ,why am i not surprised?,another horible defect,there is a gluish substant that simply wont go,here is a pic:

say goodbay to another two stars.

Also the Humidifiers velcro was useless,another half a star.however the humidifier itself is THE best i have seen shipped with a humi.add two stars.

The seal is what i would consider very good,definetly above average.

Final note,i have compared this humidor with my brothers Eli Blue.

Final rating is from 10 starts,this defect gets 8 and a half.considering this MUST be a defect that is pretty good.i am curentely waiting on an email from diamond crown.shipping this humidore back is impossible as it would cost WAY too much.

Finally i would say this is a good bargain,however i was contacted from BH with a note that the first one was sent back to DC because there were problems after inspection,well if this is the one that got through the first round of quality control AND my retailers inspection,id hate to see the ones that dont.defintely does not hold to the DC name.im looking forward to my Danial Marshal second.
