overhumidified cigars

aside from cigars splitting, feeling spongy, uneven burn and having tough draw, what are some of the other negative side affects of overhumidification? someone had mentioned to me that overhumidification will cause a cigar to taste mild and/or lose some of its flavor. is this true? and will lowering the rh and allowing an overhumidified cigar to stabilize bring some if that flavor back?
