I bought one last week when my new Holts catalog arrived.

I have used it several times and have mixed reviews. First, it is a beautiful thing, excellent craftsmanship.
When cutting cigars, however it isn't so pretty. The size of the actual cutting head is rather small and can miss and sort of pinch the ends of a large gauge cigar. I've also had it crack a couple of wrappers as it cut. I haven't exactly figured out why, but think it has to do with the design. The cutters shape is more of a shallow elipse than most (say a Zino or Wenger) and its angle of sharpening is steeper (like an axe compared to a pocket knife)

All that said, I am still happy with it. IMO, sometimes form is more important than function.

I totally agree, Dave. I used mine on an ERDM RL last night, and it's just a hair too small for something of that ring gauge. Guess I'll have to reserve this little beauty for ring gauges 50 or less. And yes, sometimes form is more important than function.
