The Community Events thread only lists the 2006 herf and a search of this Herf's Up! forum only finds 2006 info.
Did something happen to cancel the annual CW event?

No Herf this year. I don't know exactly why.

Nevada passed Question 5 which outlaws smoking in all venues that serve food - conventions and banquets included. Diamond Billiards, which has an attached Cigar store and where we have had pre-herf gatherings in the past was even told that they had to make their attached cigar store non-smoking by the health department.

Right now the whole thing is in court but the bottom line is that there are not any venues available to host the CW Herf as we have done it in the past. The plan is to watch how the court cases are resolved and take it from there. If the court does not rule favorably, we will have to re-engineer the Herf Week concept to fit the new reality.

My apologies for the cancellation of Herf Week 2007. Hopefully sanity will return to Nevada in time for Herf Week 2008.
