I'd try it, even though I loathed turnips. I like beets.

I like it since it compliments the dish well. It has a fresh pickle like snap and a nice briny slightly tangy flavor. They don’t really taste like turnips in this pickled form.

I'm trying things that I hated as a kid to see if my tastes have changed. I like raspberries and sweet potatoes and cauliflower now. Turnips, rutabaga are on the list.

My chef cousin invited me over for a nice lunch on a very nice day outside. He says he’s making chicken and veggies. I’m thinking bbq since it’s a very nice day outside. His idea of chicken and veggies...rosemary and garlic roasted Cornish game hens stuffed with garlic, oranges, and lemons. Side asparagus sautéed in butter, garlic, and a balsamic reduction. Well done cuz. Awesome lunch.

Crawfish. Lots and lots of perfectly boiled crawfish with all of the fixings. Especially enjoy the boiled garlic bulbs.

At Acme Oyster House in the French Quarter. Trying seafood gumbo, jambalaya, boom boom shrimp, oysters, red beans and rice and sausage. Washing it down with cold Shiner Bock.

Middendorfs thin catfish and some fantastic onion rings. Been 20 years since I last ate there. Never disappoints.
