Stale air ruining smokes?

Hi all,

Thanks to the fine resources on this board I set myself up a couple of coolerdors last spring. This winter was a doozy though and I rarely smoked at all. Now that nice weather is back I've started smoking again, to realize that I probably hadn't opened a couple of my coolers for 2-3 months. Any of the smokes coming from those 2 unopened coolers have a bit of an acrid harsh taste (some more than others, but still omnipresent).

Could this be due to the coolers being unopened for so long? If so, do you think a couple months (with regular fresh air breaks) will bring them back to my favourite tastes?

Any advice welcome, I'm jonesing for my fix!
