My office smells like a walk-in humidor

I just got back from the specialty lumber shop with two large boards (10 board feet) of one inch thick spanish cedar.

Let me just say my office smells great!

Heh, That is excellent!

A few weeks ago I got two bundles delivered, 36sqft total, I the two bundles stashed behind the couch for about a week before I got cutting and man the house smelled so great!

Now the shop is graced with the beautiful smell, along with about 1/2" of SS dust around trhe table saw and band saw, I love the stuff.

I may leave some scrap sprinkled around the house to maintain, natures perfect air freshener. Way better than some fu fu candles my wife burns.

Are you building a new humi?

see ya

Mike

36 square feet! That is just awesome. I'm building a cabinet that will be around 4 or 5 square feet inside. Lot's of room! I also keep the SC sawdust, but have not found a use for it yet.

Nice. When they delivered the cedar ply (15 sheets)for my shop it smelled sooooo good. It took over the whole building. I wanted to sleep there.

Okay, so the SC lumber has been cut down to 1/4 inch, so I now have 30sf of the stuff! Now my car smells like a walk-in humidor!

Original lumber cost was $56. for 4/4 (1 inch) lumber. The re-saw and sanding cost another $50. for a total of $106.

End price was 3.50 per sq.ft. That's one third the price of woodcrafters!

There are several variables that must be determined first in order to answer that question.
