What’s up with JR Cigars???

Their web site has been buggy as hell lately, I had a problem with my last 3 orders, and each time I called customer service (which was 3 times) I waited on hold over an hour each time. I’ve been buying from them for over 35 years and never has it been this bad. They haven’t even been responding to emails.

Welcome to the conglomerate. Accountants can tally figures, but that doesn't correlate with value. Cuts are rarely made in the right places.

And upper and middle management are above placing an order every couple of weeks to check and tweak the customer experience.

I am a JR plus member, but this is my last year. I would have stopped last year, but it renewed automatically. I called to have it cancelled, and the guy I spoke with said it would be cancelled, but it never was. I could have fought it, but I didn't as I had placed a few orders with free shipping.

But almost $60 a year for free shipping is outrageous. I can only assume that they have lots of members who have stuff shipped constantly. If I had weekly 5 packs shipped to me then the membership would be worth it. But I place probably five large orders with them a year. I'd be better off paying the shipping.

I complained to them about the cost of the membership, but I think it fell on deaf ears.

I order most of my stuff through Holt's now.

I have greatly reduced my use of Amazon and look forward to not being on Prime.
