Very bitter...

So, the geniuses at the BCS rank OU ahead of Texas...

Texas holds the Aggies to 9.

Oklahoma allows 41 points against Okie St.

Texas beat OU at a neutral site.

...bullshit.

Go Missouri.

Blame the Big 12 tiebreaker rules.

So the 2 teams in the Big 12 Championship are teams that have been beaten by Texas. Yea, that makes sense. Yet another example of how ridiculous the BCS is. Go Mizzou.

Nope. This is BCS rankings driving the conference.

That indeed sucks. Being a Texas boy by birth I prefer the Horns over the Gooners. I just don't know how you work this out equitably without a playoff. TT has a gripe too. The Red Raiders though essentailly played the Little Sisters of the Poor for their out of conference schedule. OU played Cincy and TCU (both good teams) but made up for it by also playing Washington (LSotP of the NW). Texas played a good SEC team (Arkansas) and a decent team from Rice (9-3 in C-USA), plus they've already handled Mizzoo (which might be part of the problem). Too bad they didn't have the Buckeyes on the schedule this year. Unfortunately, I think it's the big offensive numbers OU has put up the last few weeks that tipped the scales.

What will suck equally bad is Alabama getting shut out of the title game if they lose to the Gaytors at a neutral site, that loss would arguably be not as bad as a loss to Old Miss at the Swamp.

Big 12 needs to adopt the <cringe> SEC tie-breaker rules. There was a good piece in Rivals.com about it. It essentially becomes the highest BCS ranking (for a three way tie) unless the top two BCS ranked teams are within five BCS places of each other. If so, then the head-to-head result takes precedence.

Makes sense to me as it still uses the BCS rankings but places a higher priority on head-to-head results.

Exactly. Can't blame the BCS for all of this.

Coach Brown of the Horns sat his star players in the 4th quarter and when asked about it said if it takes piling on points to make the title game then he has little interest. He went on to say that there is always talk about teaching sportmanship to the players and that how that should be more important than dogpiling on a team. Yet the BCS chooses the king of dogpiling for the Big 12 title game.

Credit Mac Brown for that. Bob "Whiner" Stoops is the new Steve Spurrier.
