Mikes, identify this pepper please

My neighbor planted these pepper plants in his garden. Some plants in the ground, and some plants in large flower pots. Plants are doing well, lots of pods on the plants. He thinks they are Trinidad Scorpion peppers but he’s not sure.

We made a nice salsa using one pepper. Lots of tomatoes, tomatillos, onions, seasonings used.

Salsa seemed way too hot to be a Trini Scorpion. Once we cut it down more, salsa was great.

Mikes, are these Trinidad Scorpion peppers? all pods from the same plant.

They look like the Carolina reapers Phil has growing. Allegedly hotter than the ghost. I like hot peppers, but the reapers are stupid hot.

Thanks for the info BigO.

These peppers are way hotter then the Trini Butch T’s I have tried in the past. I have not heard of the Carolina Reaper. Wow, based on what I read about them, they are hotter then the Butch T’s. We had to really cut the salsa down to tone down the heat to en enjoyable level. We used 1 pepper pod and made 6 pint size mason jars of salsa. Still a bit too hot for my enjoyment so I take 1/4 cup of salsa as a base and add it to chopped tomato and onion, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, and 2 table spoons water. I really enjoy this salsa.

Habs and Scotch Bonnets are about my heat limit. Right now, the Reapers are recognized as world's hottest. At least until someone breeds one hotter. When I'm caring for Phil's plants, I wear latex gloves and still wash my hands twice with Dawn.

I’ve grown reapers before and they were not smooth skinned like the ones pictured. They had raised bumps as well as a defined stinger. My guess is either a 7pot or 7pot bubblegum judging by the high crown calex ontop oof the one that still has a stem. I’ve grown these as well as scorpions which have a more defined tip or tail but also have smooth skin. Just have regular habs this year. I think I sent you some a few years back Mike.

Ps if he has too many peppers send me some Mike. Love me some super hots!

Oh and believe it or not there is a new hottest pepper in the world. The same guy from puckerbutt who grew the first f1 stable reaper strain has created an new pepper
